In this example I have collected a number of photos from my Round Lake Huron tour to form a cover page that attempts to showcase some of the scenery experienced during the tour.
This picture could easily be turned into a poster to hang on a wall. (If someone is foolish enough to mention it then you can always pull out the picture book eh? (grin) )
I have presented many examples of cropping a picture to get rid of unnecessary background. In this case I've kept the background but blurred it out. The net effect is to draw the eye to the sharp looking car.
This special effect attempts to make the viewer think of a series of photos that capture the actions that occur as two riflemen prepare to fire their weapons.
This was accomplished by creating a new completely black coloured image. Four separate full sized pictures were then resized much smaller and pasted onto the new black image.
I believe that the net result is an effect that successfully conveys the firing sequence while being much more pleasing to the eye then a bunch of separate pictures in the journal.
Of course a perfect picture would have all photos in the sequence showing identical colours.
From Day 3 of my Round Lake Erie tour.
This technique occured to me during my latest tour.
Typically I will see a sign that I want to record but in order to zoom in on the details I have to lose the surroundings which are often quite beautiful. By taking two pictures and combining them in one photo I can have the readibility and the scenery too!
