This website relies on feedback from as many bicycle tourists as possible in order to be a successful source of worthwhile information.
It's doubtful that any cyclist has toured in every possible way with every possible piece of equipment so I think it's safe to state that there is no one way to bicycle tour.
This website celebrates diversity! The best way to provide useful information is for people to share what works for them and also what doesn't work so well.
By the way this website is fully paid for out of my pocket. No sponsorships and no commercial motives just strictly a desire to give back to the touring community for their willingness to help me when I got started touring.
Currently the website is fully paid up for a two year term. It's my sincere hope that well within that time this website will have grown to the point that it's a useful resource to new and veteran bicycle tourists. Assuming that is the case then it is my intention to keep this website connected to the web and continuing to grow in usefulness.
Providing quotes
Any time that you would like to provide a quote for this website just drop me an email or post the quote on the Mailing List. I will add the quote to the appropriate page and drop you an email telling you where it's located.
Providing pictures
Any pictures that you would like to contribute will also be gratefully received. I will accept only pictures that you have taken yourself.
Guest hosting a page
I usually start off with an introduction of some sort and then turn the rest of the page over to you. When your section is finished I sometimes, but not always, will include a summary or conclusion of some sort.
Generally the goal of the page should be focused on a particular topic and questions related to that topic should be answered. Alternatively you could provide your feedback on what you believe about the topic.
As an example for a "Converting a mountain bike for touring" page you might consider answering questions like:
Having an interview:
If you don't feel comfortable thinking up questions or you are unsure what to say then you could request that I interview you about a topic instead. I'll submit a few questions to you about the topic area of your choice.
Do I need to do html or do photo editing etc?
Nope! I will take anything you provide and convert it to the needed format. For text a simple text file or Microsoft Word document would be great.
With the pictures I will usually resize them and possibly do a bit of cropping plus add a border. Jpgs, gif or other common formats shouldn't be a problem.
Will I receive credit for my words and/or pictures?
I will take the information that you provide and insert it into the article providing you with full credit for your remarks and a link to your web site if you like.
You will have an opportunity to review and request changes to any quotes, pictures or articles that I post.
Any information that you submit to me can be withdrawn by the originator upon request. This hasn't happened yet and hopefully there will never be a need but the option is there should this be a concern.
A table listing items that I am currently actively seeking can be found on the What's New page.
